Wondering when your dream encounter tends to happen? Some Seadex species include a month-by-month view of recorded sightings throughout the year. 🐋🤿

The When divers see it chart lets you explore these patterns globally or country by country.

Explore sighting seasonality

  1. Open a species in Seadex.

  2. Scroll to When divers see it.

  3. Choose Global for the worldwide view.

  4. Tap a country to explore its sightings separately.

  5. Compare the monthly bars to see when recorded encounters are more or less common during the year.

Higher bars mean more sightings have been recorded during that period, they don’t mean you’re guaranteed an encounter.

Marine life moves, conditions change, and every year can be different. Use the chart as inspiration when planning a dive, not as a forecast.

Follow the patterns. Let the ocean handle the surprises.
